Vintage love.

I love finding vintage goods. If you get a chance to check out your local area for vintage stores because you can find incredible pieces.
My trick is to always keep an open mind. You have to look at these vintage finds like they have potential.  Today I found this long lace vintage dress. Just by looking, it can look mumu-ish and very unflattering. I decided to buy the dress because it was just $6.99. I cut and altered the dress. The result is- a sexy lace dress that can be rocked with heels and jewelry. I LOVE IT.
If you don’t have a vintage shop nearby, here are a few links you check out:

Add some color

Our daily life can get mundane. So what if we are not rock stars or movie stars? It does not mean we can’t dress fun. Add some color to your outfit even when it comes to your work attires. Yes, sometimes a 9-5 jobs getting little boring but having fun with fashion even when it comes to your boring job can go a long way with your mood.
In this outfit, I wanted to feel business woman-like yet still sexy. This dress went from a whole day at work then to my hubby’s happy hour celebration. It’s always a good thing when your outfit can be worn for different occasions. CHEERS to that!

Maxi Dresses….

Maxi dresses are hot for spring.
In my case, my rule with maxi dresses or any dresses for that fact is… YOU CAN WEAR THEM ALL YEAR LONG. In the fall or winter, I just layer enough for warmth.  Now since spring is in the air, everyone should bring out their maxi dresses and work it.
The beauty of maxi dresses is that you can still feel sexy yet demure in it. The style is not bearing too much but there is still an aura of sexiness to it.
Many of my friends, just like me, lack in the area of height so they say maxi dresses does not look good on them. This should not stop you from wearing a maxi dress! You can wear them with heels or alter them so that it does not drag on the floor. Accessorize it with a fedora or a head gear, necklaces, and bracelets and a clutch or a handbag of your choice and now you can STRUT awayJ

This picture was taken a couple months ago… I wanted to feel like I was in fairy tale hence this snap shot of me.

Fashion Staple.

It is a must! A fashion staple is something that is versatile and can be worn for many occasions and several different ways. This spring season my fashion staples are cardigans, flats, printed tees and trench coats.

I recently bought 3 cardigans in the colors of gray, black, and tan. They were all $24.95 from H&M. I wear them with dresses, work outfits, jeans, shorts - practically…EVERYTHING.

I also added new flats to my collections in the colors of gray, black and tan. Flats are my go-to especially when I go out and about in heels and especially when I am at work. I don’t know about you, but I can only last a couple of hours in heels. Flats are versatile and like the cardigans, it can be worn with everything. This season you can also find them in brighter colors, which is another plus since bright colors are everywhere this spring.

The trench is very big this year. You can see them all the run away shows and fashion magazines. They have been updated to brighter colors or different silhouettes. I like my staples to be tone colors. So I went for the classic beige trench.  I found a great deal at H&M for $49.95. The other trenches behind me are: Vintage trench coat $20.00, forever21 denim trench coat $29.00, and white express trench $50.00

You don’t have

to spend big bucks to be fashionable. You can find great deals everywhere and look like you stepped right out of the fashion magazine. Stay tuned and I will show where to get all the good stuff J

How do you feel? Fashion should be an expression of…YOU

A friend of mine gave me an advice for my blog… she said I should make it more personal and write about what inspired me to put my outfits together. I am not much of a writer; I am more of a visual person that is why it took me forever to blog. But I can give a try.
Fashion should be an expression of YOU. It should represent how you are feeling that time of day or night.
This past weekend, my outfits were for events such as… a night to paint the town red or in this case blue for a friend’s b-day celebration and laser tagging.
Sat, March 19.
You can dress sexy but still make it look classy. Since my dress was fitted or what they called body hugging and bright so I toned it down with gray shoes and accessories.

Laser tag fun! Fashion and indoor/ outdoor activities can still go together. And no, I didn’t run around shooting laser tags with my heels. If you do decide to dress in heels, be prepared. I always bring my good ol’ vans or flats with me. Just change it up and you are ready!

It’s good to change things up. That’s what style is all about… even if it’s just your hair style. I normally have two hair styles when I got out and about, straight or curly. These days, I am experimenting on new hair styles. You can too. All you need is… a magazine to look at different hair styles (I always go to People Style watch magazine), youtube.com (on how to actually do it if it gets too hard), hair spray, couple of hair pins, brush or comb, and a hair straightener or a curler. Vuala! A new you and you are ready to paint the town red :D

Style tips

Fashion can be fun. It’s up to you to make it fun. There is a saying that I go by which says fashion fade, style is eternal. So here are some style tips for you.
1. Dress the way you want, whenever you want (It’s your style, who cares if other people don’t like it)
2. Dress on what looks good on you, not on them (if you are going to wear the trends, make sure it fits your body type)
3. Dress with confidence (confidence is the key for you to take some fashion risks)
Here are a few people who I believe goes by these tips. They are my fashion icons: Blake lively, Leighton Meester, Bridget Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Thandie Newton & Sarah Jessica Parker.
